Indian therapist

About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing virtual therapy to clients residing in New York and Florida. I’m a first-generation American and the daughter of Indian immigrants. My professional training and my personal experience living between two cultures inform my understanding of mental health as inseparable from societal, political, historical, and cultural systems.

I completed my MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and my BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University. I have experience counseling adolescents and adults of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic classes, and disability statuses. My research background includes exploring transgender identity formation among people of color and drama therapy as treatment for PTSD in war veterans.
